meet the team
A native of South Carolina, Melissa followed a love for art and creative endeavors to Clemson University, where she earned a degree in design. Following graduation, she gained her architectural license while working in the field for the next decade. Her strong interest of interiors led her to add interior design to her repertoire. She spent the next 10 years working at several significant interior design firms before she founded Melissa Ervin Interior Design in 2008. A registered architect and NCIDQ certified designer, her background in both architecture and design proves to be a great asset in establishing the bones of a space on which to build interiors.
Melissa resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband and two children.
Katie Ketrow, Associate Designer, holds a BA degree in Media Arts and Design from James Madison University and a BFA degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Charleston. She joined the team at Melissa Ervin Interior Design in 2013 after an extensive internship at a residential design firm. She is proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe design software and uses this knowledge as she assists, plans, and coordinates large and small scale residential and commercial projects.
Katie, her husband and daughter reside on James Island.
Associate Designer Kimberly Keathley joined the firm in 2017 but has worked in Charleston's competitive design domain since 2007. She spent several years with a high-end residential architecture firm before shifting her focus to interior design. Kimberly holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture from Clemson University, and possesses the technical skills required in the construction field, coupled with a passion for creating spaces that speak to a client's personal style.
Kimberly and her husband reside on James Island.
